  2. 1/2 Room,
Thanks so much for the warm welcome. We live in New Hartford, CT. Right now our trees are beautiful...with lots of different colors. Today it was sunny and warm, but it's supposed to be cooler starting on Wednesday. Do your trees still have leaves? How warm is it there now?

  3. We are so glad you came. Our trees still have some leaves, and they are changing colours here also. Arij noted some leaves are starting to fall. Ibrahim thinks our trees look perfect! It's pretty chilly here this morning...about 1C (we measure temperature in Celcius) which is about 33F. It's been raining here, but it is sunny today. Later on, we will post a picture so you can see what our playground looks like right now. There was ice on our slide this morning!

    3. Thank you so much for all of your questions. We have had fun finding out the answers for you....
Camden says, "It is a little cool."- Camden- We wish it was 54F here. We feel cold!
Rhett says, "Can you take a picture of your school and send it to us?"-Rhett - One of our students is going outside as soon as we finish this reply to take a picture. Mrs. Belanger will make a new post later with a picture of our school, the playground and our class. Look for that later today!
Jonah says, "If you get ice, do you get out of school?"-We wish, but no. Sometimes they cancel the busses, but most of us walk to school, and the schools are ALWAYS open and the teachers all have to come no matter what.
Raymond says, "What does your playground look like?"Raymond-Our playground equipment has blue ladders to get up and red slides to get down. We also have a soccer field, a running track, a garden, some picnic tables and some trees. Look for the picture later.
Lexi says, "How many kids go to your school? We have 800 at our school." Lexi- Wow that is a big school! Our school has 304 students. It is smaller than half of your school.
JD says, "We are glad to talk to you."- We are glad to talk to you too!
Shep says, "How high does your snow get?" Shep-It really depends on the year, how much snow we get. Some times we have got almost 30 cm (about 1 foot) and last year we didn't get hardly any at all.
Eli says, "Are your roads straight or curvy?"-Our expressway is straight, but alot of our regular roads are curvy.
Breanna says, "Is your school new or old? How many kids are in your class?"- Our school was built in 1975, so we think that is pretty old...In our class, we have 38 students. We are a combined class with two teachers, Mrs. Belanger and Mrs. Chartier, and we also have an Educational Assistant named Mr. Brown.
Thanks for all the great questions!

    5. Hi 1/2 Room,
We looked at where we live compared to where you live on Google Earth. We thought your city was a lot closer to the north pole than us, but it isn't. We probably have very similar weather as you, only a day later. This morning it was chilly here too...around 27 degrees F (which is a little less than 1 degree Celcius).

  5. Does Mr. Brown have a wife in Arkansas that is named Mrs. Brown? Preston-LOL - Mr. Brown does not know of any wives he has in Arkansas, however Mrs. Belanger and Mrs.Chartier are on him about asking his girlfriend here in Canada to marry him :)
How many monkey bars do you have?-Preston We Don't have any Monkey bars, just ladders and slides.
We have iPads in our class. Do you have iPad?- We have a cart that has 15 iPads on it for us to use Ashlynn.
We have 25 students and 1 teacher. Mrs. Laffoon helps us in the afternoon.-Austin
We have a playground with swings and 4 slides. We have monkey bars. There are 2 play areas. We can send you a picture.-Kate- We would love to see a picture of your school and playground!
We don't have picnic areas, or a garden.-Dara We love our outdoor learning areas. Especially in the autumn and spring when the weather is nice enough to do our learning outside!
What does your cafeteria look like? Our cafeteria has 2 lines and colored squares on the walls.-Natalyn- We don't have a cafeteria. We eat at our desks in our classroom.
Do you clubs on Tuesday. We have clubs. We have drama, art, yoga, music, science, and legos. I am in the drama club.-Lexi- We don't really have clubs here. We take art and music and drama classes, but there are no clubs. We do have "Books and Board Games" in the Learning Commons (like a library) every recess. This is really popular in the Winter time when it gets really cold and snowy out. A lot of friends don't like going outside for recess when it gets too cold, so we go and play in the Learning Commons.
Our school is new. It just opened last year. We have 7 first grade classes.-Camden We can't wait to see a picture of your new school!
Not many people walk to school because the school is a little far from some houses. We ride a bus, or a car. Some people ride a bike.-Isabella- Our school is right in the middle of our neighbourhood in our city. Only 4 people in our class take the bus out of 38 friends.
Our school is big. It starts at Kindergarten (5 year olds) up to 4th grade (9 year olds).-Jonah That is a big school! Our school starts at Junior Kindergarden (3-4 year olds) and goes up to 8th grade, and we still have only 304 students.
We go to the playground after lunch. The middle school, Bright Field, is next to Willowbrook.-Sania We don't have middle schools in our district. All of our schools are Junior Kindergarden to 8th grade.
Do you have a white board (SMART board) that turns on in your classroom? We have the blog up right now on that board.-Shep Yes, we do have a white board, but Mrs. Belanger is working on getting just a big TV and Apple TV so we can get rid of our big smart board and the big cart that has to go with it. That way we can use our iPads and it can show up on the TV from Apple TV
How many grades are in your school?-Eli We have Junior Kindergarden to 8th Grade
